First of all, I want to thank all the band sawers' who've been so generous with their feedback and support for the SliceMiester project. It's undergone some radical mutations in the last six months and you'll be pleased to know that it's price has been reduced to $3,995. The production version, Slice Miester II, despite its lower price, features all the great features of its progenitor and even incorporates some new goodies you probably couldn't have imagined in a band saw. While its primary purpose in life is to resaw wide veneers, it's also a dandy corbel saw; and bowl-turners are going to love it. The first thing you'll notice about SliceMiester II is its revolutionary new beefed-up 14” frame design, capable of easily supporting 3/4” blades; and the two 14” balanced aluminum wheels lively reaction to our new 2HP motor. You won't believe how fast it cuts the thickest and hardest of the hardwoods. You won't believe how easy it is to adjust the modular/vestigial fence. The phenomenal blade tension Slice Miester II's beefed-up aluminum frame and dual spring tensioner delivers can run the thinnest re-saw blades through 16” of the toughest stock without ever slowing down. The footprint of SliceMiester II is smaller than that of the prototype. It's the same as that of Corbel King; 36” x 36”. Table height is the same 32”. It has leg extensions for lighter work, too. I'm not going to post any new pictures or videos of SliceMiester II until we've had a chance to deal with the patent issues. I hope you'll understand. Since the introduction of the first prototype our website has gotten a scary number of hits from those same foreign tool companies who like to reproduce my design innovations without giving due credit (and proceeds), so this time I want to try keeping things confidential to US citizens. You'll no doubt be seeing some of the early breakthroughs from the proto-SliceMiester marketed, by the usual suspects, in the near future. SM1 is obsolete for our purposes now anyway. You can custom-order SliceMiester II now and delivery is currently 2 months out. Sorry. Good things come to those who wait however, and we'll do our best to keep up. It might be interesting to note that no financing offers were received from our previous solicitation, and Falberg Saw Co., however slowly, remains a family business dedicated to the advancement of band saw utility. When completed, the design concept for an all-around-woodshop band saw, with function-specific attachments, will irrevocably raise the bar on consumer expectations for future bandsaw-related products. First of all, the fencing breakthroughs presented here open numerous possibilities for after-market products applicable to the majority of band saws now in existence. Secondly, the size, shape, and composition of the basic Slice Miester platform presents a unique opportunity to exponentially expand the functionality of what will eventually become known as the "standard" band saw. The only consumer objection we’ve heard at this early stage is the price.
