ELF

For those of you who don´t need a big, expensive, ass-kicking portable timber band saw we decided to introduce a smaller, less expensive, ass-kicking portable timber band saw; the Elf. With two of the same 10" wheels we use on Titan portable timber band saw, it has an 8.5" effective throat width and 12.5" of effective cut depth. With the blade nested into the vertical frame member it skirts around big timber unobstructed by the separation of function found in the other hand-held portable timber band saws. Being balanced where the blade intersects the platen, it exhibits the same effortless control found in the big Titan; and therefore protected under the same U.S. Patent (#6,675,486).

The motor mount has been newly re-designed to work around jig clamps without obstruction. The belt cover was also re-designed for easier removal and better coverage. It looks neater too.

Elf is cooked from scratch with all the same top quality running components as Titan portable timber band saw, including: dual-spring, lever-action tensioning; ball bearing guides and drive system; one-piece cover; and laminated platen. Elf uses a 3/4 HP, TEFC, induction motor for years of trouble-free QUIET operation. Elf is Heavy, Heavy Duty. And made for serious production Timber Framing. The hand-built all-aluminum frames (somewhat beefier in relation to their size than the mighty Titan) are individually balanced, as are the wheels. Powder coated Elves are cooked to perfection in a 400* oven and cooled in crisp, clean Rocky Mountain air. We add just a pinch of white lithium grease. Elf lacks an exposed frame member hanging out on the left side so we added a sweet little ergonomical handle there, opposite the motor switch, for safety. It still has two little T-handles on the platen, for close work. The word "sweet" keeps popping up as we play with this saw. "Manageable", "tight", and "handy" get used a lot also. You know how some tools just feel right?

That´s our Elf.
Enough said.
