Reading this book will change your life forever ! The woodworking reader will learn herein: just how narrow the gap truly is between the veteran woodworker and the industrial tool designer; how to close that gap by learning a few cheap metal-working tricks; and how few new tools are needed. Assuming the reader can design furniture and build cabinets, the book also assumes said woodworker is also capable of building tools, jigs, and entirely new machines out of aluminum with a minimum of additional cost and skill. Picking up where other books on the subject of band saws leave off, my book goes into much greater detail about the design elements that go into the building of custom band saws. In addition to the usual stuff you find in set-up and operation manuals, this book goes on to teach the reader how to build a dedicated resaw that suits his individual needs precisely; as in: how to build a dedicated resaw band saw to cut 18" wide veneer, for instance. Or how to build a portable bandsaw. Or how to design your band saw to serve the same functions as a table saw.

The book teaches the reader how to build specialized fences and saws far superior to anything currently available, and in that regard one could make an entirely new career from these contents. If nothing else, the reader will come away with an entirely new understanding of how bandsaws work and how to better use them. Certain disturbed individuals may find humor in it.

Though the subject matter is extremely technical, it is written to be accessible to the average tradesman and broken down into the simplest of terms. Like you, I don't understand engineering-talk either, but it's mostly intuitive for handi-people and you'll find the (numerous) illustrations clarify the concepts of wheel crowning, blade setting, tensioning, frame design, and workpiece transport better than any jabbering on my part could.

Unless my treatise hits the New York Best Sellers List it will be home-printed and each copy will be signed by me, personally. (If everybody in the World decides to buy it you'll have to sign them yourself.)
